Toni Hardwick

Toni has enjoyed a long love affair with jewellery which started in childhood. Toni’s Grandmother’s and Great Aunt’s pearls always fascinated her along with the story of how they were formed.

The thought that a shellfish could create such a wonderful natural gem was inconceivable at a young age.

Toni is a qualified Advanced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) working part time for the NHS  and as well as working making jewellery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and, alongside Alan, running the British Pearl Association.

Toni has a caring and creative nature and often described as eclectic. Outside of her jewellery activities she enjoys various arts and crafts, fashion and music. Toni is outgoing, enthusiastic and enjoys working with others. She looks forward to working with members of the pearl community of jewellers, retailers and suppliers to help the industry move forward  through promotion, education and encouragement of the use of ethically sourced pearls and products.

Alan Hadley

Alan is the owner of Birmingham Titanium and Black Zirconium ring manufacturers, GETi and founder member of The Guild of Jewellery Designers. His main role within the BPA is the overseeing and running of the website and membership queries about insurance and supplier partner discounts, along with assisting Toni with competitions and social media content. Alan has worked in the jewellery business for over 20 years with his original expertise lying in precision engineering. Many of the skills learnt from his engineering background transferred easily to his present position with GETi.
